St. Johns Church of God in Christ
A new 10,000sf building (70'wide X 145' long) - Building construction included clear span scissor trusses tied into a box girder truss with an inside clear height of 30' at ridge, custom 6' wide dormers with-in Fellowship Hall to add natural light, large windows on all sides and full glass entry door systems. New sprinkler system, high efficiency, multi zoned forced hot air HVAC system with customized, concealed ductwork within the scissor trusses. The worship space (5,000sf) included a large stage/altar area, baptismal tub, changing rooms w/bathrooms for pastor and associates, custom wood handrails and floors and a complete sound (audio & visual) system with a sound booth/control room at back corner of space. Ceilings were all stained tongue and groove pine, ceiling fixtures are a combination of chandeliers and down lighting. The Fellowship Hall (3,000sf) which also has high tongue and groove wood finished ceilings, includes a full service commercial kitchen for daily breakfast/lunch and dinners and for hosting community events as well.
The Fellowship Hall is easily separated and closed off from the Worship Space by a sound insulated accordion door system that slides and locks into place as a divider. The back of the facility (2,000sf) included large handicap accessible bathrooms, a conference room, library, and offices for the pastor, associate pastor and deacons. Exterior finishes included brick veneer panels on the front and east side of building and vinyl siding on the back and west side. All side entry doors have canopies and tie into sidewalks that surround the church perimeter. A large steeple was installed on the 14 X 20 portico at main entry and a large cross on the east side of building. The entire site is fenced and gated with the front and sides having black, 6' high custom aluminum fencing with entry gates at both entrances and the rear of the property with 6' high chain link.
